We Built Ordit Because the Red Box Was Never Good Enough.

For years, fire compliance in Australian buildings meant binders in filing cabinets, documents on USB sticks and critical records locked in red boxes with missing keys. Important paperwork got lost when managers left. Contractors finished work and walked away without leaving a single piece of documentation. And when an inspector arrived, someone was left scrambling. We decided to build something better.

OUR STORY

Six years of solving the same problem the industry refused to fix.

Ordit started with a simple observation: fire compliance documentation in Australia was failing building managers, strata professionals and building owners not because they were careless, but because the systems they were given were broken. Paper-based. Fragmented. Human-dependent. A document only existed if someone remembered to keep it, knew where it was and had not left the organisation.

Evacuation diagrams were being painted over and never replaced. Five-yearly maintenance records for fire indicator panels could not be produced at audit because the contractor who did the work had stopped responding. Special needs registers were out of date because Occupiers had moved and no one had updated the form. Schematics that cost twenty thousand dollars to produce were being lost because the manager who stored them had retired.

None of this was acceptable. So we built Ordit, a digital wallet permanently attached to the building, not to any person who manages it. A platform where every compliance document, certificate, register and maintenance record lives in one secure place, accessible in seconds to anyone who needs it, and impossible to lose through a handover.

OUR MISSION

Every Australian building should be compliant, accountable and prepared — regardless of its size or budget.

Fire compliance should not be the exclusive domain of large buildings with resources for expensive consultants. A twelve-unit apartment block in regional Queensland deserves the same level of compliance infrastructure as a government facility managing hundreds of properties. Ordit makes that possible — at a price that reflects the building, not the number of users on the system.

THE TEAM

The people behind Ordit.

Craige

Founder

Craige leverages his extensive background in logistics and resource management to design streamlined compliance workflows and operational support systems for challenging environments. He built Ordit to replace the flawed, paper-based compliance systems that consistently fail building managers and strata professionals when they matter most.

Joy

Marketing Specialist

Joy leads Ordit's marketing and communications strategy to ensure the platform’s vital message reaches building managers and strata professionals across Australia. She specializes in developing clear, jargon-free digital content that highlights why proper fire compliance documentation is essential for real-world building safety.

Eugene

Head of IT Development

Eugene drives Ordit's technical roadmap, leading the engineering team to build a secure, scalable, and highly reliable digital platform. His focus is on translating complex compliance requirements into intuitive, high-performance software features that simplify the user experience.

Built in Australia. For Australian buildings. Data stays here.

All data is hosted securely in Australia on AWS infrastructure that meets government and military-grade security requirements. Your building’s compliance history never leaves Australian jurisdiction. This matters particularly for council, government and healthcare clients with data sovereignty requirements — and it is a deliberate decision, not an afterthought.

Ordit is also purpose-built for Australian legislation — the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 (QLD), AS 1851-2012, the Annual Fire Safety Statement (NSW) and the Annual Essential Safety Measures Report (VIC). Every feature reflects what Australian law actually requires, not what overseas compliance software assumes.
